The Trip
It was a 7-day trip from 9/3 to 9/10, 2007. We successfully landed in Barcelona on our second flight from London. It was my first trip in Europe after I came to London and also the first time in my life that I missed a scheduled flight. We stayed in the same “hostal” during the trip in the neighborhood Born, which has many nice restaurants and interesting shops, and is within walking distance to the city centre. The Metro system in Barcelona is very convenient, so I would say it is very easy to get around no matter where you stay.
I can’t help saying again: I love Barcelona. I love its vibrancy plus the classic elegance it retains. I love its randomness, the way the city is “styled”. And I’d love to go back again, to leave more footprints in the sand.

The Resource
The main guide we used in Barcelona is A Weird and Wonderful Guide to Barcelona by le cool. We trusted it so much that we based most of our eating itinerary on that book. And they all turned out very satisfying except for one barbecue place hidden in Montjuïc which has been out of business when we found it. This book is still good to have if you want to try something different in Barcelona. I’d say it is a very inspiring book. And nope, I don’t work for le cool.

The Author
Annie aka Lemonni. During the construction of this site, I’m working and traveling in London. My intention in creating this site is for my personal travel journal...like an online scrap book that I can share with friends. This may not be a perfect travel reference since I have put in a lot of personal views. However, I’m sure that Barcelona is some place you have to visit during your lifetime.
