A gloomy Saturday. It's not raining in the morning though, it's just the day that you'd feel like to have a plain toast with some milk as your breakfast. You'd feel like doing nothing but staying home, sitting in front of your computer and then eat lunch again. Well, plain rice with some Japanese cherry blossom salt it is, for my lunch. And then I head out.
Today, I'm all alone by myself, in terms of exploring the city.
....... well, not exactly exploring if you just go shopping eh? But I did find something extraordinary from my emptying-pocket exploration as I walked into the second Book etc. looking for something for our trip to Barcelona next month from hundreds of books sitting on the shelves from the top to bottom...... And then, somewhere between numerous guidebooks with white cover and bright title on them, I spotted a small, red hardcover book with only one, small golden word that you have to get closer to read: BARCELONA. It was like a magic spell that cast on me since the moment I pulled it out from the shelve. 256 color pages with vibrant pictures and words, and funky layout. It DOESN'T look like a guidebook at all, but after just a few flips, I decide to turn back on Lonely Planet this time and walk to the counter.
This book - A Weird and Wonderful Guide to Barcelona - turns out to be the very first book of the group le cool, who is based in Barcelona and publish free weekly newsletter since 2003. Now their editorial team has expended to other cities as well such as London, Madrid, Lisbon, etc. Perhaps someday...Vancouver? I'm sure LEers will be interested in this. After all, aren't we two groups both passionate about music, art, photography, food...that surrounds or hides in the corners of our city???
Think about that.
